Academic careers often involve movement, across institutions, countries, and career stages. But what does mobility really look like when you’re also navigating motherhood? Join us for a conversation with our host, Dr Paula Rodriguez-Villamil, mom of two, formerly an academic and now a global leader in the animal genetics industry.
Together, we will explore the challenges of career mobility during pregnancy and while raising a family, while sharing practical tips, experiences, and solutions to help navigate and enjoy both a STEMM career and motherhood.
About the SciMoms Network

Host: As Global Embryo Director at ABS GLOBAL, Dr Rodriguez-Villamil brings a global perspective on mobility in STEMM, with experience across academia and industry in Columbia, Brazil, Argentina, and the United States. She is a Veterinarian and holds a PhD in reproductive biology from Universidad Nacional de Córdoba in Argentina, followed by post-doctoral work at UFC in Brazil. In her current role, she drives R&D, product development, and the worldwide expansion of innovative embryo technologies. She is passionate about mentoring and supporting women in STEMM, serving as Mentoring Program Coordinator at Mothers in Science for over 4 years.
