A career in academia comes with a unique set of challenges, and for parents it can be hard to cope. But there are other STEM career paths which are equally rewarding and offer many advantages for people with families.

Layla Katiraee is a product development scientist in a biotech company with a PhD in human molecular genetics. She will speak about why she decided to move on from academia and share her experience transitioning to the industry sector while navigating motherhood.
