In our November 2023 event, Dr. Isabel Torres, our co-founder and CEO, uncovered the truth about the STEMM leaky pipeline – breaking myths and sharing the facts.

More women than ever before are pursuing careers in STEMM, yet they remain vastly underrepresented in this sector, particularly in leadership positions. Isabel will discuss the invisible barriers that push mothers in STEMM away from their career track and explain why motherhood should be at the center of discussions and interventions to close the gender gap in STEMM.

Why are so many mothers leaving STEMM? In this event, Isabel will show groundbreaking data from research conducted by Mothers in Science revealing the *real* causes why no many women (but not men) in STEMM put their career aspirations aside after having children.

Dr Torres discussed the systemic barriers faced by mothers and then the participants joined in for an informal Q&A brainstorming session to discuss solutions to support mothers and promote inclusion of caregivers in the STEMM sector.
